Nationally acclaimed interior designer and architect, Sharon Perry Wise, recently opened the doors of Objects...Lost & Found, a shop dedicated to antique accessories. Nestled among the shops and homes on Houston’s beloved Ferndale, the restored 1930s cottage sells carefully collected treasures from around the world.

“My goal was to create a store where I would want to shop. As an interior designer and architect, I have been an antique lover for years,” said Sharon Perry Wise, Owner of Objects. “Groupings of objects are more interesting to me than a single object, so you’ll find various collections including lamps, ink wells and majolica. Although Objects does carry furniture, we separate ourselves from other antique stores by also providing many home accessories. Accessories finish a home and make it more personal.”

Located at 2815 Ferndale, Objects offers one of a kind home accessories such as lamps, birdcages, tea caddies, chandeliers, sconces, decorative boxes and plates, inkwells and furniture all ranging in price and prominence. Sharon has designed the store for easy perusing of the unusual and eclectic finds. A wall of lamps lights up the room and a table with bird’s nests makes for a decorative sight. A row of Chinese clay bird’s graces a fireplace mantle centered between two French sconces. Many of the accessories are handmade, European and in perfect condition brought back to Houston by Sharon herself.

Objects is open Monday-Friday 10:00 to 5:00. Drop-ins are welcome and appointments can be made by calling 713-523-8496. For more information on Objects, contact The PR Boutique by calling 713.599.1271 or by emailing meredith@theprboutique.com.

GREEN SCENE: HIGHLAND VILLAGE FARMER’S MARKET OPENS IN HOUSTON’S LANDMARK SHOPPING CENTER

Highland Village, Houston’s landmark shopping and dining destination, announces it will be home to the new Highland Village Farmer’s Market beginning Saturday, October 31. The Highland Village Farmer’s Market will be Houston’s only farmer’s market with 100 percent organic, sustainable method growers. The market will be held each Saturday from 8:00 am to Noon.

“We are inviting vendors who only offer organic products. We have two growers USDA and state certified and others who use either organic or sustainable methods of growing,” said Charles Morales, Market Manager of Highland Village Farmer’s Market. “I am proud to be a part of the Highland Village Farmer’s Market.”

A permanent covered structure (next to Jos. A Banks and across the street from Escalante’s Mexican Restaurant) will house up to 24 vendors. Seasonal growers will rotate throughout the year bringing the freshest goods of each season to Houston such as blueberries, figs, strawberries and peaches. A baker will bring fresh baked breads, desserts, brownies and pastries that will pair nicely with the organic coffee vendor. One unit will supply free-range beef, lamb, pork, goat, chicken and wild boar while several vendors will have a variety of free-range eggs. A soap maker will provide lotions and handmade goat’s milk soaps.

Unusual and anticipated features at the market include Queen Bee Marshmallows, a vendor selling 20 different varieties of handmade marshmallows, and Texas Wild, a vendor who owns his own shrimp boat bringing peeled and whole shrimp to the market.

“Shoppers already come to Highland Village to enjoy retail, dining and entertainment. Now they can visit the Highland Village Farmer’s Market for their cooking and grocery needs as well. The Center will be a one stop shopping destination for Houstonians,” said Gretchen Ferguson, Highland Village spokesperson.
